Spring Season Brings Positive Momentum for Sheriff's Office and D.A.R.E. Program
[Linn County, Missouri] -
As the spring season gets underway, the Linn County Sheriff's Office is proud to share continued success in its community outreach efforts, particularly through the D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program. Sheriff Carrie Melte reports that the program has seen strong participation from local students this year, with actively engaging classrooms and building positive relationships with young people across the county. The D.A.R.E. curriculum focuses on decision-making skills, peer pressure resistance and promoting safe and healthy lifestyles. "Our Deputies are committed not only to protecting the community, but also to investing in its future," said Sheriff Melte. "Spring is always a busy time, and it's encouraging to see students so engaged and responsive to the D.A.R.E. program." Throughout the spring months, Sheriff Melte and Deputies have visited multiple schools, participated in community events, and worked closely with educators to reinforce the program's message. The Sheriff's Office notes that these efforts help foster trust and open communication between law enforcement and the community. In addition to D.A.R.E., the Sheriff's Office continues to encourage residents to stay safe this season by being mindful of increased outdoor activity, practicing safe driving habits, and reporting suspicious activity. Sheriff Melte extends appreciation to local schools, parents, and community partners for their ongoing support.
